As part of our mission to keep improving your Lumosity experience, we've been making some big updates under the hood! You might have noticed some changes to your game scores recently. Here’s what’s going on and what it means for you.
🔧 What’s Changing?
We’ve fixed critical bugs and upgraded the underlying technology that powers some of our games in order to help us:
- Fix bugs faster
- Make our games more stable across devices
- Launch new features and improvements more quickly
From a user perspective, the games still look and feel very similar. But these foundational updates mean we’ve had to fine-tune how scoring works in a few places.
📊 Why Did My Scores Reset?
Because of these improvements, scores on some games will start fresh. That’s expected. Even small, behind-the-scenes changes can impact how scores are calculated.
To keep things fair and meaningful, we’ve reset scoring on the updated versions of these games. But don’t worry—your previous top scores are safe. You can view them any time as Legacy Scores.
👑 What Are Legacy Scores?
Legacy Scores are your top scores from the earlier versions of Lumosity games. They’re saved in your account and always accessible, allowing you to look back at some of your past best scores. Right after finishing a game, you can spot your Legacy Scores and compare them to your current performance.
🔁 Will This Affect My LPI?
Your Lumosity Performance Index (LPI) is designed to track your cognitive performance over time. With these updates, your entire LPI history has been recalculated so that:
Your progress over time remains accurate and reliable
You can still fairly compare your performance across days, weeks, and months
Even as games evolve, your LPI continues to reflect your true skill level
While you may see some shifts in your current LPI, rest assured this update makes your performance tracking more precise than ever.
