Lumosity app for iPad, iPhone, and Android
Go to Settings by tapping the ⚙️ icon. Scroll down to the section titled Game Settings.
Toggle as required:
- The slider indicates OFF when it is Grey and positioned to the Left
- The slider indicates ON when it is Orange and positioned to the Right
Other factors impacting sounds/music:
- Your device volume is turned up/down.
- iOS Silent Mode is on/off as desired
- Hardware mute switch (on older iPhones) is OR isn’t set to silent as desired
💡 Besides the above, sounds/music can be toggled On or OFF in-game as well by tapping the Pause button and selecting the required configuration.

Option 1: From the Home Page
Go to your Lumosity Home Page. Click on Settings. Under Sound Settings, you’ll see separate options for: Background Music Sound Effects Toggle each ON or OFF according to your preference.
🧠 Your preferences will automatically save for future sessions.
Option 2: In-Game Settings
Open any Lumosity game. Look for the gear icon (⚙️), in the top right corner of the game screen. Select it to open the settings menu. Toggle Background Music and Sound Effects ON or OFF.
🧠 These choices will apply across games. You can still update sound settings individually during a game if you’d like.
In-game, tap the pause button (||) in the top-left corner to open the menu. You’ll see options to toggle music and sound effects on or off individually. Adjust these as preferred, then select Resume to continue playing.
Note:
💡 If you're having trouble with the sound after turning audio on, please try clearing your cache following the steps in this article
✅ Tip: If you mute sounds from the Home Page, the changes will carry over to all games automatically.
